Yesterday’s snowstorm past and by last night you could see that it was clearing up. So when we woke up this morning it was no surprise that it was going to be a good day, admittedly not a blue bird, but surprisingly good light up at Grand Montets. Another bonus about this time of year in the valley is that the tourist season has not really begun yet, short lift queues and locals everywhere makes for some really good days up the hill!
Today’s snow conditions were great! The extra snow that arrived yesterday filled in some more of the rocks and left a good layer onto of the last dump. If you found yourself in any of the little gullies spread all over Grand Montets, you were in for a treat, where a good 30cm of snow had been deposited. Don’t get me wrong, there are still a lot of rocks out there but if you are careful and look ahead you will be able to avoid a lot of them.
With more snow forecast for the rest of the week, I’m not sure there will be the best visibility up the hill, but anyway I’m sure there will be enough snow in the trees to still have some fun!
