The last few days in Chamonix have been amazing! It all started on Saturday as Les Houches managed to open their doors after 2 days where the whole valley had been closed because of the large amount of snow that had fallen. Fresh powder each day that was being topped up over night by continued snowfall made for some fantastic skiing in the trees as visibility up high was not that great. Most of the ski stations in the valley have been open at some point this week, but not the whole area due to high avalanche risks.
I would recommend that you check out the weather, avalanche risk and lift status before you venture into the mountains at the moment, all this information can be found on our Weather and Avalanche Risk page in the menu bar.
