No Vallorcine Train This Winter!

Words from Chamonet by Robin Deering:

Following the start of the renovation works in April this year to the Chamonix valley train network, a number of delays have caused the French rail network (RFF) to announce there will be no train to Vallorcine this winter.

The 70 million euro project is to include a huge renovation of the Montets tunnel, new rails, a new signalling system and a new computerised management system.
Due to organisational and planning problems, that the RFF have not fully communicated, the Montets tunnel will only be open to road traffic and all trains will reach their temporary terminus at Montroc for the winter.

A full bus service will be in place to carry skiers and holidaymakers from and to Vallorcine.
